About / History of Advanced Media Network
Advanced Media, Inc., formed in late 2003, has held as the parent company and foundation for everything and anything our organization has accomplished, failed at, developed, or thought about doing.
With roots going back to before the turn of the century, the company’s founder, Ken Cauley, was merely a teenage boy managing a SEGA Dreamcast fan site. With no more than a couple thousand viewers a day, the Dreamcast fan site took many forms and eventually became a fan site dedicated exclusively to Nintendo. At that point, Ken Cauley shook hands with Sean O’Neill and a partnership that exists and holds strong to this day was formed. From that day on, the Nintendo fan site (GameCube Advanced) grew and over time was established into one of the largest Nintendo fan sites in the world.
As the young duo realized that their efforts would not yield much higher results, they decided to take their aspirations to a higher level and start covering multiple game consoles. The first expansion being a fan site dedicated to Microsoft Xbox (Xbox Advanced), formed from the acquisition of former Xbox fan site, FunXbox.com. Soon after that, the company name, Advanced Media, Inc. was registered and used to gain access to media only events such as E3, GDC, TGS, and more.
Not stopping there, the company eventually expanded efforts to all video game handheld and home console verticles. They also expanded their reach beyond video games for the first time with the creation of Anime Advanced and and aquisition of Entertainment Insiders.
The next evolution of Advanced Media Network brought a lot of changes to the company. In early 2008, Advanced Media Network decided to do a major branding and structural overhaul to their North American video game representation by rebranding and rebuilding AMN Games to its own entity, Kombo.com. They also rebranded and rebuilt Anime Advanced into its own entity, EasternImage.com. These changes allowed the previously used AdvancedMN.com to act as stand alone URL for the companies corporate site.
To this day, Advanced Media Network continue to develop new products and services, form new partnerships, and test the latest trends and innovations.
